A junior high Special Education Teacher position is available for a contract covering the current school year (CSY) in Lombard, IL. This role focuses on supporting middle school students who need both academic assistance and therapeutic interventions in a specialized educational setting.

Key responsibilities include: Delivering differentiated instruction that aligns with Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals and state academic standards. Creating a structured, supportive classroom atmosphere tailored to students' unique needs. Applying behavior management techniques grounded in trauma-informed practices. Collaborating closely with social workers, therapists, behavior specialists, paraprofessionals, and families to support student success. Developing, maintaining, and updating IEPs, progress reports, and required documentation. Participating actively in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions to ensure comprehensive student support. Monitoring and assessing student progress regularly and adjusting instructional strategies as needed. Qualifications: Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with an LBS1 endorsement is required. Experience working with students requiring academic and therapeutic support at the middle school level is preferred. Strong collaboration and communication skills to engage effectively with multidisciplinary teams and families.
