An opportunity is available for a skilled Occupational Therapist specializing in early childhood to provide essential therapy services in an early intervention setting. This role focuses on supporting children ages 2 to 5 with diverse developmental and communication needs, promoting their success both in the classroom and beyond.

Responsibilities include: Assessing fine motor, visual-motor, sensory processing, self-regulation, and daily living skills of young children. Designing and implementing individualized therapy plans aligned with the Individualized Education Program (IEP). Delivering direct and consultative occupational therapy services in various settings such as classrooms, small groups, or one-on-one sessions. Collaborating with teachers and staff to integrate developmentally appropriate strategies into daily routines. Monitoring, documenting, and reporting progress towards IEP goals in compliance with state and federal guidelines. Participating in evaluations, eligibility determinations, IEP meetings, and transition planning. Partnering with families to support developmental skill-building in home and community environments. Encouraging student independence and facilitating access to curriculum and learning activities. Qualifications sought: Masters degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program. Valid state license for Occupational Therapy and/or NBCOT registration. State Department of Education certification if required for school-based practice. Experience with early childhood populations, particularly children with developmental delays or disabilities. Strong knowledge of sensory integration, motor development, and play-based intervention techniques. Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills. Preferred experience and skills: Familiarity with IDEA regulations, early childhood special education, and inclusive classroom approaches. Knowledge of assistive technology and adaptive equipment appropriate for preschool environments. Bilingual abilities are a plus. Prior work in school-based or pediatric occupational therapy settings. This position is a contract opportunity located in Middletown, DE, running for the duration of the school year.
