A K-12 school in Aurora, IL is seeking a dedicated Teacher for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students for a contract role running through the school year. This position offers the opportunity to support and empower students with unique communication needs in an inclusive educational environment.

Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to students who are deaf or hard of hearing. Use specialized instructional techniques and technology to enhance communication and learning. Collaborate with general education teachers, speech therapists, and families to promote student success. Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly. Foster a supportive and accessible classroom environment that meets all students needs. Desired Qualifications: Valid teaching certification with endorsement for Deaf and Hard of Hearing or equivalent qualification. Experience teaching students who are deaf or hard of hearing within a K-12 setting. Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and/or other communication methods used by the deaf community. Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams. Commitment to inclusive education and advocacy for students with hearing impairments. Location: Aurora, Illinois This contract position spans the full school year, providing meaningful engagement with students while contributing to their academic and social development.
