An opportunity is available for two dedicated Special Education Teachers to support K-8 students in a dynamic school setting located near Rockford, IL. This full-time contract role begins in late July or early August 2025, aligning with the start of the academic year and professional development sessions, and concludes in early June 2026.

This position primarily involves working within special education resource classrooms focusing on pull-out services, with occasional push-in support, serving approximately 90 students across lower and upper academies who have Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) or 504 plans. Teachers will manage caseloads within consistent grade bands, ensuring tailored support to meet each student's unique learning goals. Key responsibilities include: Delivering direct, specialized instruction in accordance with individual student IEPs Monitoring and reporting student progress regularly Collaborating closely with parents and general education teachers to coordinate services Managing case-related documentation and duties with potential support from additional staff Participating fully in weekly IEP meetings, especially on Thursdays, to maintain compliance and communication Qualifications and experience: Professional Educator License (PEL) with LBS1 endorsement is required Prior experience in special education is preferred but not mandatory; comprehensive training will be provided Ability to work full-time hours from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM daily, with consideration for part-time candidates who meet program needs Effective communication and organizational skills essential for collaboration and case management The school provides all necessary technology, including laptops, to support educators in their instructional and administrative responsibilities. Some students receive 1:1 aide support, although these are not self-contained classrooms.
