Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams. Utilize a variety of teaching strategies and assistive technologies to facilitate language acquisition and academic progress. Monitor and assess student performance, adjusting instruction to meet evolving needs. Collaborate with speech therapists, audiologists, and other specialists to ensure comprehensive support. Foster a supportive and accessible classroom atmosphere promoting communication and self-advocacy skills. Maintain ongoing communication with families to support student progress and address concerns. Desired Qualifications: Valid teaching certification with specialization in Deaf and Hard of Hearing education. Experience teaching K-12 students who are deaf or hard of hearing. Strong knowledge of American Sign Language (ASL) and deaf culture is highly preferred. Ability to design and execute differentiated lesson plans aligned with state standards. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Commitment to ongoing professional development in deaf education. This contract position spans the full academic year and provides an opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of students with hearing challenges within an engaging school community.
