Work remotely providing comprehensive sign language interpretation services to approximately 39-49 students in grades Pre-K through 12. Your 36.5-hour weekly schedule includes direct interpretation, collaborative planning with educational teams, and professional development activities. Our virtual platform features advanced video technology specifically calibrated for optimal visual communication. Essential Functions
Deliver professional virtual sign language interpretation during academic instruction, assessments, and educational activities Support online college and career readiness programs, scholarship applications, and post-secondary planning sessions Provide interpretation for virtual mental health services, counseling sessions, and crisis intervention communications Interpret during virtual research projects, science fairs, and academic competition events Collaborate with special education coordinators, general education teachers, and related service providers Maintain accurate service documentation and participate in accessibility planning and evaluation processes Provide consultation regarding visual communication needs and environmental considerations for deaf students Engage in professional learning communities and continuing education focused on educational interpreting best practices Mandatory Requirements
Required: Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA) score of 3.5 or above Two years minimum of K-12 educational interpreting experience Advanced technical skills with virtual interpretation platforms and video conferencing systems Professional workspace with high-definition video equipment, proper lighting, and reliable high-speed internet Comprehensive American Sign Language fluency and cultural competency in deaf community practices Valid background screening appropriate for educational service delivery Preferred: EIPA score of 4.0 or higher Written EIPA certification Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) or National Interpreter Certification (NIC) Ongoing professional development in educational interpreting and virtual service methodologies Academic Environment
