Provide comprehensive virtual sign language interpretation services to 38-48 students across diverse grade levels in a structured 36-hour weekly position. Our virtual interpretation environment includes cutting-edge video technology, collaborative platforms, and professional support systems that ensure seamless integration with school-based educational teams and optimal communication access. Essential Responsibilities
Deliver professional virtual sign language interpretation using specialized video platforms and technology Support online educational assessments, evaluations, and testing accommodation procedures Provide interpretation services for virtual parent meetings, IEP conferences, and educational planning sessions Interpret for virtual school events, performances, and extracurricular activities Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and families through secure digital communication platforms Maintain comprehensive documentation including service logs, student interactions, and professional activities Provide ongoing consultation regarding deaf student communication needs and educational access requirements Engage in continuous learning opportunities focused on virtual interpretation innovations and professional development Required Qualifications
Required: Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA) score of 3.5 minimum Two years minimum of school-based sign language interpreting experience Technical expertise with virtual interpretation platforms and video troubleshooting capabilities Professional workspace with high-definition video equipment and reliable internet connectivity Strong communication and collaboration skills for effective remote team engagement Background clearance appropriate for educational service provision with minors Preferred: EIPA score of 4.0 or above Written EIPA certification RID/NIC certification with written examination component Continuing education in deaf culture and educational interpreting methodologies Student Service Profile
