Provide virtual sign language interpretation services to approximately 38-48 students spanning elementary through secondary education with 35-hour weekly schedules including direct services, preparation time, and collaborative activities. Our professional virtual platform features industry-leading video technology and communication tools designed specifically for educational interpretation excellence. Primary Responsibilities
Conduct real-time virtual sign language interpretation for academic courses, enrichment programs, and educational presentations Support virtual standardized testing procedures, state assessments, and college entrance examination accommodations Provide interpretation for virtual family engagement events, parent education workshops, and community partnership programs Interpret during virtual professional development sessions, staff meetings, and educational policy discussions Collaborate with bilingual education specialists, English language learning coordinators, and multicultural liaisons Monitor visual communication quality and provide feedback regarding virtual accessibility improvements Document interpretation services and contribute to student accommodation planning and implementation Participate in professional development focused on cultural competency and educational interpreting advancement Essential Qualifications
Required: EIPA (Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment) score of 3.5 minimum Two or more years of school-based sign language interpreting experience Technical expertise with virtual interpretation technology and platform troubleshooting Professional home office setup with broadcast-quality video equipment and stable internet connectivity American Sign Language proficiency and understanding of deaf cultural values and communication norms Background verification suitable for educational service provision with student populations Preferred: EIPA score of 4.0 or above demonstrating exceptional interpreting competency Written EIPA certification Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) or National Interpreter Certification (NIC) Specialized training in multicultural interpreting and educational accessibility Student Demographics
