Provide virtual sign language interpretation services to 37-47 students spanning elementary through high school levels with 35.5 weekly hours including direct services, team meetings, and professional preparation time. Our state-of-the-art virtual platform features specialized tools designed specifically for educational interpretation and visual communication excellence. Primary Functions
Conduct professional sign language interpretation during virtual classroom instruction and academic discussions Support online individualized education program (IEP) development, review, and implementation meetings Provide interpretation for virtual career counseling sessions, college preparation programs, and transition planning Interpret during virtual school board meetings, policy discussions, and educational advocacy sessions Collaborate with assistive technology specialists and accessibility coordinators through secure digital platforms Maintain ethical interpreting practices and confidentiality standards in remote service environments Track interpretation services and participate in accessibility compliance documentation Engage in professional development opportunities focused on educational interpreting innovations Qualification Standards
Required: Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA) score of 3.5 minimum Two or more years of school-based sign language interpreting experience Technical competency with virtual interpretation platforms and troubleshooting capabilities Dedicated professional workspace with appropriate lighting, camera positioning, and internet reliability Fluency in American Sign Language and understanding of deaf community culture Background verification appropriate for educational service provision Preferred: EIPA score of 4.0 or above Written EIPA certification demonstrating advanced interpreting competency RID/NIC certification with written examination component Specialized training in educational terminology and academic interpreting Educational Environment
