Position Title: IT Support Instructional Assistant

Office: Columbus, OH

Employment Type: Contract

Duration: 3-6 Months

Reports To: Site Director

Who we are looking for

We are seeking an Information Technology Support Instructional Assistant to join our Curriculum & Adult Learning organization. This person will assist in teaching and supporting the class and will be responsible for the following:

Overall Focus: Candidates should be able to provide effective classroom support and be eager to grow their own technical knowledge. In particular, they should be able to:

  • Assist the lead instructor both in and out of class in the teaching and administration of the class.
  • Display knowledge and/or interest in information technology, software and hardware support, network administration, and technology education.

What You’ll Do:

Out-of-Class Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Assist and/or collaborate with the instructor to grade and review assessments, class projects, and other materials
  • Enter student grades into LMS software and grading templates
  • Update Salesforce data as necessary
  • Review curriculum materials and assessments weekly and report any proofreading or subject-matter errors to the instructor and curriculum development team
  • Assist instructor with preparing the daily agenda for students
  • Schedule time with instructor and students to discuss class challenges

In-Class Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Monitor class progress to ensure functionality (audio, video, screen appearance, etc.)
  • Serve as class timekeeper and monitor breaks and scheduling information
  • Monitor students during tests and breakout activities
  • Note challenges observed during class, including disengagement, dominance, or quietness

For this role specifically, we are targeting an hourly rate of $18.00/hr.
