The Accounting Manager will play a critical role in managing the organization’s General Ledger (GL) accounting function, ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial data. This role is responsible for leading the accounting team through monthly, quarterly, and annual close cycles, overseeing reconciliations and journal entries, and ensuring compliance with accounting policies and standards. Reporting directly to the Director of Accounting, the Accounting Manager will serve as a key partner in maintaining strong internal controls, supporting financial reporting, and driving process improvements across the GL function.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily General Ledger operations, including supervision of staff and senior accountants to ensure accurate and timely preparation of reconciliations, journal entries, and supporting schedules.
• Manage all aspects of the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, including preparation and review of trial balances, consolidated financial statements, and supporting documentation.
• Ensure all accruals, deferrals, amortizations, and adjusting journal entries are properly recorded in accordance with GAAP and company policies.
• Review and approve account reconciliations to ensure accuracy, completeness, and proper documentation.
• Maintain and enforce detailed close checklists to monitor progress and deadlines for GL activities.
• Develop, document, and enhance internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure compliance with regulatory and audit requirements.
• Partner with Finance, Operations, and other cross-functional teams to provide accurate GL data that supports budgeting, forecasting, and business decision-making.
• Ensure seamless integration and accuracy of accounting systems and ERP processes within the GL function.
• Train, mentor, and develop accounting team members, fostering technical excellence and professional growth.
• Identify and implement process improvements, automation opportunities, and system enhancements to increase efficiency in GL accounting and reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; MBA or CPA preferred.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience with a strong focus on General Ledger and financial close processes.
• Demonstrated expertise in GL accounting, reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting.
• Strong understanding of GAAP, internal controls, and compliance requirements.
• Proven ability to delegate effectively while maintaining oversight of team deliverables.
• Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills to drive collaboration and performance.
• Skilled communicator, able to present key GL insights to senior leadership clearly and concisely.
• Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office programs.
