Assistant Buyer (Contract, Hybrid)

Emeryville, CA Pay Rate:
Up to $27 per hour
Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Assistant Buyer to join the team on a contract basis. This role supports purchasing operations, vendor communication, and promotional processes while ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and strong supplier relationships.
Key Responsibilities Create and process purchase orders accurately and within established timelines.
Research and confirm retail pricing and product values for purchase orders.
Verify product descriptions and update pricing as needed.
Ensure supplier invoices are processed promptly, minimizing overdue items.
Maintain clear, professional communication with suppliers, internal teams, stores, and distribution centers.
Respond to vendor and store inquiries within 24 hours, providing effective follow-up.
Accurately set up new suppliers, items, and modules with strong attention to detail.
Address store issues and questions quickly and effectively.
Process alerts (pinks, yellows, red flags), price changes, and corrective billing with urgency.
Manage aspects of the print and digital advertising process, including product image proofing, AD file accuracy, delayed distributions, purchase order tracking, and image approvals.
Qualifications
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work independently while maintaining effective communication with cross-functional teams.
Responsive, professional, and proactive approach to vendor and store support.
Pay Details:
$25.00 to $27.00 per hour
