Overview

Litigation Secretary - Insurance Defense for a busy, mid-size firm. This full-time role supports attorneys handling personal injury auto and premises liability cases. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and thrives in a collaborative, performance-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of civil litigation timelines and due dates.
  • Prepare and file pleadings, discovery requests, and other legal documents.
  • Schedule depositions, hearings, and meetings.
  • File documents with state and federal courts (electronic and physical).
  • Assist with trial preparation, including exhibits and binders.
  • Communicate professionally with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel.
  • Maintain attorney calendars and task lists using Microsoft Outlook.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of legal secretary experience, with a strong background in insurance defense/personal injury.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook (Calendar/Tasks).
  • Solid understanding of civil litigation procedures and deadlines.
  • State court experience required; federal court experience preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.

Work Environment

  • Hybrid Schedule: One remote day per week; in-office the remainder.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: $75,000 - $80,000 per year
