Development Services Technician
The City of Pasco is seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative Development Services Technician to support the review and coordination of public and private development projects. This is a key technical role that ensures project compliance with City codes and supports the delivery of efficient permitting and construction processes. We are recruiting for one (1) position, and applicants will be considered for Technician I, II, or III depending on their qualifications and experience. Salary range (based on classification level): Development Services Technician I:
$28.22 - $33.88/hour, plus benefits Development Services Technician II:
$32.42 - $38.92/hour, plus benefits Development Services Technician III:
$38.74 - $46.51/hour, plus benefits The level offered will be determined at the time of hire based on qualifications and applicable experience. Primary responsibilities: Provide technical assistance in reviewing development plans and permit applications Coordinate with engineers, developers, and internal departments to ensure regulatory compliance Track and manage documentation related to project status and required corrections Serve as a point of contact for customer inquiries and guide applicants through development processes Conduct basic field visits, site research, or records analysis to support project review Required minimum qualifications: Associates degree in civil engineering, construction management or closely related field Must have at least 2 years of experience in civil engineering, construction management, permitting, or related work Desirable attributes: Knowledge of development review procedures and construction documentation Strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills Ability to interpret engineering drawings and construction plans Familiarity with permitting software or databases is a plus Comprehensive benefits package: Medical at $153.70/month, dental at $11.59/month, and vision coverage at $6.54/month Basic life insurance paid for by the City and employee sponsored supplemental life insurance 12 days of vacation during the 1st year of employment and 12 days of sick leave which are available for use upon accrual 10 holidays, plus each employee receives 1 floating holiday each year Washington State Department of Retirement Systems (DRS), which offers a guaranteed monthly benefit once vesting criteria has been met In addition to DRS, employees may also contribute to a 457 Deferred Compensation Plan, that offers a pre-tax contribution of 4% from the City Other benefits offered: Comprehensive Employee Assistance Program, Tuition Assistance, Flexible Spending Plan, Long-Term Disability, Aflac, and Flexible Schedule (per department approval) Safety/work conditions: Duties are performed in an office environment while stationed at a desk using a computer.
