Role: Associate Director, Planning System Lead. Hybrid role located in Spring House, PA; Raritan, NJ; or Titusville, NJ. Reports to the Director, Data Strategy and Governance. Partners to drive process improvements and standard methodologies in Project and Portfolio Management (PPM) planning, enhance operational planning and forecasting efficiency, ensure high data quality, and address data gaps to inform decision-making. Works closely with Functional Leads, Project Managers, and Clinical Forecasting to standardize end-to-end PPM systems and processes. Provides insights to Portfolio Performance and Resourcing (PPR) for leadership-informed planning insights. Key Responsibilities
Lead initiatives to improve portfolio planning system processes, aligning with organizational goals. Develop portfolio data quality metrics and foster continuous improvement. Lead data quality efforts, identify gaps, and prioritize data management initiatives. Partner with business teams to implement process improvements and technology solutions that elevate data integrity. Apply data quality metrics to track progress and support decision-making. Act as a Project Manager to increase transparency of planning initiatives, managing timelines, resources, and risks. Drive standardization of planning activity definitions across JJ IM TAs and Global Development partners. Collaborate with PPR teams to develop planning insights for senior leadership. Additional responsibilities include supporting the Business Product Owner of Planisware (E7) and the User Community Tool (UCT) Planning products, recommending enhancements, coordinating UAT, training, and adoption in partnership with Portfolio Solutions and IT. Reinforce planning data quality through metrics, communication, and process adherence. Principal Responsibilities
Lead capability and process improvement initiatives for JJ IM stakeholders; act as Portfolio and Project Manager for planning initiatives, tracking risks to milestones. Provide leadership and support to the Business Product Owner of UCT and Planisware (E7); lead UAT, training, and adoption of new processes. Improve data quality planning metrics and report on data errors; liaison for Project Managers. Participate in Operational Data Governance Council to ensure data accuracy downstream. Ensure consistency and standardization of planning activity definitions. Contribute to continuous planning capability improvements and operating model design for planning/forecasting. Build and maintain internal and occasional external relationships to support the Business Product Owner. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required; science or business preferred. Master’s degree preferred. Minimum 8 years of experience with a pharmaceutical company or CRO. Expertise in drug development, financial operations, and strategic planning. Project management experience required; PMP certification preferred. Experience leading diverse teams in direct and matrixed environments preferred. Experience with information systems (e.g., Planisware, SAP/SEM, CTMS, Ariba, Power BI) highly preferred. Strong understanding of financial aspects of clinical operations preferred. Excellent leadership, communication, analytical, and organizational skills; results-driven with the ability to manage multiple tasks. Ability to lead multiple projects; up to 10% travel domestically and internationally. Compensation and Benefits: The anticipated base pay range for U.S. locations is $137,000 to $235,750. Eligible for annual performance bonus. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability coverage, legal insurance, retirement plan (401(k)), and time-off benefits.
