Position Overview
The Specialist has a multitude of administrative duties within the School of Nursing involving student services for testing, progression, student success, and retention. Provides management of required data for the nursing students related academic student success and retention. The specialist is highly involved in special projects management.
What you will be doing
Manages schools' pre and post nursing assessments, in-program standardized testing and remediation products and solutions used to improve student NCLEX performance Manages the standardized tests for nursing students, reviews and analyzes students' standardized test results, and conducts comparison with course grades and nursing program metrics and productivity for program assessment and accreditation purposes Manages school's strategic systematic evaluation data collection and analysis for program assessment and accreditation purposes Provides evaluative reporting data for annual reports and contributes to periodic SON self-studies to assist in the monitoring of the school's accreditation and nursing regulatory processes assuring that program outcomes are achieved Provides staff and faculty support to help achieve SON strategic objectives and daily operations. Compiles and distributes semester and program clinical evaluations Facilitates special events, the León Lecture Series, advisory committee meetings, pinning ceremonies, faculty and new student orientations and external site visitors Develops and submits students' retention and success strategies Collaborates with faculty and Director of Testing on testing schedules and budget preparation for student testing service and assists with the processing and monitoring of departmental budget for testing and student course fees Maintains department facilities, inventory and equipment; prepares purchasing and accounting paperwork and reconciles and approves invoices for payment processing for comprehensive testing program Assists with the development and implementation of faculty professional development and training activities needed to maintain licensure and certification; trains faculty on software packages such as electronic health record software, Pearson Readypoint, end of program testing and content reviews and other academic/technical responsibilities Assists with the documents and justification for structuring of nursing fees; prepares fee audits, and manages internal scholarships Assists in the preparation of reports for accreditation and licensure associations; i.e., Florida Board of Nursing, Florida Center for Nursing, National League for Nursing (NLN), and the Accreditation Commission for the Education of Nurses (ACEN). Coordinates the maintenance of communication with state and national professional associations and credentialing agencies Performs other duties as assigned What you need to succeed
MBA or Master's degree in related healthcare field and one (1) year of related experience in higher education; or Bachelor's degree in related healthcare field and five (5) years of related experience All degrees must be from a regionally accredited institution Knowledge of curriculum and academic program structures and requirements in an institution of higher education Knowledge of program accreditation standards Knowledge of computer data bases, spreadsheets, statistical applications, computer-based testing and machine scoring Possess technical leadership and supervisory skills within area of expertise Possess strong skills in planning, implementation, and administration of student support and retention programs and services Possess strong organizational, research, analytical, and critical thinking skills to gather data, compile information, prepare reports, and manage inventory Ability to identify, analyze, and resolve complex and sensitive problems and issues associated with student academic retention and success while providing confidentiality, professionalism, and discretion Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization Ability to work in a multi-ethnic and multi-cultural environment with students, faculty and staff Additional Requirements
