• Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week
• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $2000-$2050

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
• BLS certification (American Heart Association) required
• Minimum 1 year of recent Operating Room RN or Surgical Unit nursing experience
• Associate's Degree in Nursing (ASN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Strong clinical skills in perioperative and post-operative care

OR RN Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to surgical patients in the Operating Room and Surgical Unit
• Implement evidence-based procedures and best practices for perioperative nursing
• Maintain accurate, up-to-date documentation of patient care and surgical interventions
• Conduct initial patient assessments and develop individualized plans of care
• Modify care plans based on ongoing patient evaluation and clinical judgment
• Provide expert post-operative care, including wound and ostomy management
• Monitor and manage patients with new tracheostomies and complex wounds (including wound vacs)
• Educate patients and families on ostomy care and post-surgical recovery
• Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Promote patient and staff safety by identifying and addressing safety hazards
• Communicate effectively with healthcare colleagues and provide constructive feedback
• Engage in ongoing professional development and identify personal learning needs
