- Shift: Days, 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
- Hours per Week: 36 (3x12 hour shifts)
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week
- Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $2000-$2050
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
- BLS certification (American Heart Association) required
- Minimum 1 year of recent Operating Room RN or Surgical Unit nursing experience
- Associate's Degree in Nursing (ASN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Strong clinical skills in perioperative and post-operative care
OR RN Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to surgical patients in the Operating Room and Surgical Unit
- Implement evidence-based procedures and best practices for perioperative nursing
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date documentation of patient care and surgical interventions
- Conduct initial patient assessments and develop individualized plans of care
- Modify care plans based on ongoing patient evaluation and clinical judgment
- Provide expert post-operative care, including wound and ostomy management
- Monitor and manage patients with new tracheostomies and complex wounds (including wound vacs)
- Educate patients and families on ostomy care and post-surgical recovery
- Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Promote patient and staff safety by identifying and addressing safety hazards
- Communicate effectively with healthcare colleagues and provide constructive feedback
- Engage in ongoing professional development and identify personal learning needs
