Overview

Construction Management Business Class Director (Water Business Group) at HDR. The role provides strategic national focus to position HDR as a preferred provider for construction services in the water infrastructure industry. Reports to the WBG Service Delivery Director. Responsibilities

Business Development: maintain market intelligence on industry competition, potential partners, acquisitions and/or new hires; capture HDR and competition SOQs, proposals, presentations, and scopes of work with fees; ensure CM pursuit targets and client maintenance plans across regions; support capture planning, preproposal visits, qualifications and proposal preparation to standardize HDR CM business development; provide marketing support on pursuits to improve HDR’s selection hit rate; maintain lists of major CM or PM/CM projects; manage tool kits and SharePoint sites; implement presentation/interview training workshops for Senior Construction Managers. Project Delivery: capture and disseminate CM delivery lessons learned; ensure use of HDR best practices, templates, and protocols coast-to-coast; collaborate with other BCDs on delivery of projects and long-term tactical plans for water construction services; provide principal-level project management and issue resolution; track costs vs. budget and apply lessons learned to future scope/fee development; maintain CM/CI resources and provide resource planning; lead PARR reviews and train staff to be Lead Reviewers; conduct site audits to verify CM protocol and owner satisfaction; promote RAKEN Field Reporting App and update HDR Technical Guidelines; manage software licenses and licenses renewals; promote Newforma CA for workflows and dashboards; serve as WBG point of contact for CMIS questions; update HDR Construction Management Manual, procedures, forms and field checklists for group-wide access. Leadership and Communications: reinvigorate CM Practice Community; plan and conduct regular CM Practice Community calls; collaborate with Field Services Communications Director, Construction Services Director and other stakeholders; lead CMAA engagement, representing HDR as a CMAA member and managing dues, sponsorships, awards nominations and CCM designation encouragement; ensure staff development through CM training plans and sessions. Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelors Degree in Construction Management or Engineering; 15+ years in managing construction delivery programs for water infrastructure; PE or related professional certifications desirable; position location flexible to any US HDR office. Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Professional, Architecture, Engineering or closely related field; at least 10 years of related experience; professional registration; experience in development and management of diverse teams; ability to work cooperatively with other BCDs, operations, technical directors and marketing managers; commitment to quality and HDR values; active participation in employee-owned culture.
