The Phlebotomist Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) is responsible for

collecting and preparing blood specimens

for laboratory testing while ensuring patient comfort, safety, and confidentiality. This patient-facing role requires accuracy, professionalism, and the ability to provide a positive experience in high-volume diagnostic environments.

Key Responsibilities

Perform venipuncture and capillary collections with accuracy. Verify and label specimens in the presence of patients. Maintain a professional and safe work environment. Ensure proper documentation of patient information and lab records. Provide strong customer service and uphold HIPAA compliance. Flex to support weekend, holiday, or overtime coverage as needed. Required Experience

High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum of 6 months phlebotomy experience (1+ years preferred). Strong pediatric and geriatric collection skills. Customer service background (retail or healthcare preferred). Keyboard/data entry experience required. Nice-to-Have Experience

Medical assistant or paramedic training. Prior experience in high-volume clinical or diagnostic settings. Required Skills

Straight needle venipuncture proficiency Patient communication and care skills Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Preferred Skills

Knowledge of HIP nd lab compliance practices Flexibility for variable schedules or coverage needs Additional Skills

Strong time management and prioritization Adaptability in fast-paced healthcare environments Professionalism in patient-facing roles
