Overview
Youth Program Education Assistant I/Asst. Team Leader (Sampson County) -- Temporary Solutions
Responsibilities
- Plan, develop, and provide instruction and assessment activities for Cadets to create a safe learning environment.
- Establish and maintain Cadet academic records and prepare/submit Cadet academic awards recommendations.
- Identify, request, and manage all course materials required for instruction to Cadets.
- Reinforce subject material and learning experiences with additional activities; identify classroom, facilities, or materials to facilitate learning.
- Develop assessment tools and personalized lesson plans to meet curriculum requirements.
- Use visual aids (PowerPoint, videos, charts, graphs, maps) to reinforce learning.
- Assist with transport and supervision of Cadets during offsite activities and medical transport as needed.
- Attend career and college fairs with Cadets; assist with orientation, registration, Life Skills classes, and TABE test administration.
- Full-time position (40 hours/week) with State Benefits.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED and two years of related administrative experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must be able to obtain a favorable suitability and fitness determination from a Tier 1 background investigation (as applicable).
- Bachelor’s degree required by the Community College System to teach at the Tarheel Challenge Academy.
- Must become certified to instruct required subjects by the Community College in accordance with guidelines at time of hire.
- Training requirements: Basic Course; CPR (re-certified every two years); Hands-off policy training.
- Ability to use and reference transcripts and verify education as part of the application process; attach unofficial transcripts if helpful.
