Manager – Corporate Accounting

to join our growing team in Grand Rapids, Michigan. This role will lead critical components of the corporate accounting close process for a large, complex fintech organization. This role ensures the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of consolidated financial reporting while driving process improvements, standardization, and scalability to support a fast-growing, global enterprise. Reporting directly to the Corporate Controller, the Manager will partner closely with global accounting teams, FP&A, tax, treasury, and external auditors. This role requires a strong technical accounting background, leadership skills, and the ability to navigate a high-growth, dynamic environment. Responsibilities

Lead and oversee key components of the monthly, quarterly, and annual corporate financial close processes, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with U.S. GAAP and internal policies. Support the preparation and review of consolidated financial statements, supporting schedules, and disclosures. Drive continuous improvements in accounting close efficiency, leveraging automation, systems, and standardized processes across global entities. Collaborate with operational accounting teams to ensure alignment on policies, reconciliations, and reporting requirements. Support internal and external audits by preparing audit-ready documentation and ensuring compliance with SOX/internal control requirements. Develop, mentor, and lead a high-performing team of accounting professionals. Partner cross-functionally with Finance, FP&A, Treasury, Tax, and Operations on close, reporting, and strategic initiatives. Serve as a key liaison to external auditors, ensuring smooth coordination of quarterly reviews and annual audits. Contribute to special projects, including system implementations, process transformation, and scaling initiatives aligned with company growth. Requirements

Required Qualifications

Strong understanding of internal controls, SOX compliance, and audit requirements. Proven track record of driving process improvements and leveraging technology to streamline accounting operations (e.g., ERP, consolidation tools). Excellent leadership, people management, and team development skills. Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels. High attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and ability to operate in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA (required). 6+ years of progressive accounting experience, with people and process management experience. Public accounting (Big 4, national or regional) and/or large global public company experience strongly preferred. Deep knowledge of U.S. GAAP, consolidation, and financial reporting; IFRS experience a plus.
