Overview

The Accounting Manager will report directly to the Principal and will be responsible for managing the daily financial operations for multiple entities. The Accounting Manager will collaborate with the Principal and other staff to develop and implement the organization’s business plan to meet its strategic goals. Recent employment in the construction industry is required. Experience with percent complete revenue recognition, Sage 300 CRE (Timberline) software is required and experience with Sage Construction Management (Corecon) and Textura is a plus. Responsibilities

Prepare monthly construction draw package to include AIA G702/703 payment applications, supporting schedules, conditional/unconditional lien releases and other supporting documentation as required. Complete the month, quarter, and year-end close processes, which include general ledger account review, adjustments and reconciliations, and cost allocations. Prepare monthly financial reports, including monthly statement of activities and budget vs. actual comparisons. Analyze monthly financial results and provide recommendations. Prepare cash flow projections for planning and funds availability. Prepare project cost analysis reports by working directly with project managers to maintain accurate budgets by identifying specific cost savings or overruns and reallocating to projects’ schedule of values, allowing for the timely submission of the monthly draws. Develop and maintain monthly and annual operating budgets. Prepare and submit all local, state, and federal tax returns, and other required reporting. Oversee daily cash management and accounts payable operations. Supervise staff and ensure application of appropriate internal controls. Supervise the accounting and payroll departments to ensure the proper functioning of all systems, databases, and financial software. Identify and ensure proper staffing to accomplish organization’s financial goals. Train and mentor accounting staff to develop and encourage growth. Recruit, interview, hire and manage accounting and other staff as required. Work with Human Resources and onsite General Counsel to ensure appropriate legal compliance. Manage financial planning and supervise the creation of reports, utilizing appropriate software and tools for budgeting and reporting. Perform continuous reviews of procedures and eliminate inefficiencies. Serve as key point of contact for external auditors and oversee external audits. Identify, acquire, implement, and maintain systems and software to provide, and secure critical financial and operational information. Identify opportunities for automating processes and increasing accuracy and efficiency. Other reporting requirements and projects as directed by Management. Qualifications

10+ years experience in a leadership role in accounting and in the construction industry Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting required, advanced degree or certification preferred Outstanding knowledge of GAAP and construction accounting Strong general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, income tax and bank working knowledge Significant experience working with external auditors, internal controls, and compliance-related issues Demonstrated leadership ability, confidence, and executive presence Strong management, organizational, presentation and interpersonal skills Strong time management skills and ability to meet deadlines Strong ability to be detail oriented and work with extreme precision Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize said tasks Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office 365 Suite, Sage 300CRE, Sage Construction Management and Oracle TPM (Textura).
