Overview
Administrative Coordinator, Office of the Ombudsperson, Georgia State University. 30 hours per week; Monday - Friday | 8:30 am - 3:00 pm. Salary: $17.95 - $26.81 per hour. The Office provides free, confidential, impartial, and independent conflict management services to students, faculty, staff, and administrators across all GSU campuses, following the IOA Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice. The Office of the Ombudsperson seeks an Administrative Coordinator to support day-to-day operations. The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal and administrative skills, familiarity with digital tools, and a commitment to professionalism and confidentiality in alignment with the IOA standards. What You Will Do
Administrative Support: Maintain service contracts, order supplies, manage general office duties (filing, sorting, database maintenance).
Budget and Compliance: Assist in development and monitoring of the departmental budget, process vouchers, reconcile P-Card logs, track expenditures, ensure compliance with University policies.
Visitor Intake & Communication: Serve as first point of contact for visitors, assist with intake, provide information on policies and procedures related to conflict management and office services.
Outreach & Awareness: Assist with outreach campaigns, represent the office at informational sessions and events; help design and disseminate office materials; maintain and update the office website and social media.
Reports & Documentation: Draft reports, correspondence, and forms; assist with creation of annual reports.
Supervisory Support: Assist with hiring for student assistants, liaise with HRAC and UAP; track time and maintain schedules for student assistants.
Qualifications
Minimum Hiring Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree and one-year administrative experience; or high school diploma/GED and five years administrative experience; or a combination of education and related experience.
Preferred Hiring Qualifications: Knowledge of University policies and procedures; strong interpersonal and communication skills; proven administrative experience including handling budgets and office management; comfortable with digital technology including maintaining databases, websites, and social media; ability to act in accordance with IOA standards of practice; excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize.
