Job Title: Part‑time Continuing Education Instructor (Non‑Credit) – Construction & Skilled Trades (HVAC, Welding, Carpentry, General Contracting)
Location: North Campus (Virtual, Hybrid, or On‑site as scheduled)
Regular/Temporary: Temporary
Full/Part Time: Part‑time

Department: Continuing Education
Reports to: Program Manager
Closing Date: Ongoing basis (position currently open)
Responsibilities
Provide instruction in HVAC, welding, carpentry, and general contracting.
Deliver lab‑based instruction that prepares students for entry into the skilled trades workforce.
Design course content that integrates safety, technical skills, and tool use.
Prepare students for certification or licensure exams.
Assess student learning through demonstrations and job‑based scenarios.
Maintain a safe and compliant instructional environment.
Collaborate with staff and industry partners to keep curriculum aligned with current standards and codes.
Monitor and support student progress and engagement.
Keep accurate records of attendance, participation, and skill achievement.
Assist in maintaining equipment and instructional materials.
Teach hands‑on courses using industry‑aligned tools and techniques.
Develop curriculum based on building codes and trade standards.
Incorporate safety regulations and best practices into instruction.
Participate in professional development to stay current in the field.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Associate’s, Bachelor’s, or Master’s degree in a construction‑related field.
Current industry license or certification (e.g., Journeyman, HVAC, General Contractor).
Expertise in a skilled trade (e.g., HVAC, carpentry, welding, general contracting).
Knowledge of building codes, tools, and occupational safety standards.
Ability to teach technical content through hands‑on demonstration.
Skill in preparing students for industry‑recognized certifications.
Excellent organizational skills for managing labs, inventory, and class logistics.
Ability to design curriculum that reflects real‑world applications.
Strong interpersonal skills and mentorship abilities.
Commitment to student success in technical education.
Experience supporting learners in workforce entry or advancement.
Additional Requirements The final candidate must successfully complete a background screening and reference check process.
