What to Expect (Job Responsibilities)
Support UNICEF’s policy impact in UNFCCC negotiations, focusing on Party engagement and relevant constituencies.
Develop and update a detailed UNICEF negotiations engagement plan, including targeted Parties and priority interventions.
Organize climate policy meetings and deliver briefing packs for senior leadership on UNFCCC policy engagement.
Facilitate coordination across UNICEF’s COP-related initiatives, including the Presidency Action Agenda.
Prepare high-quality briefing materials and reports for key climate events and negotiations.
What is Required (Qualifications)
Master’s degree in international relations, social sciences, law, environmental science, sustainability, or a related field.
Minimum of 6 years of experience delivering results in development and/or climate-relevant sectors.
5+ years of experience working in multilateral policy processes related to sustainable development and climate change.
Strong understanding of the UNFCCC process and the role of COP Presidencies.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; proficiency in additional UN languages is desirable.
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)
Demonstrated experience preparing briefing materials and presentations for high-level officials.
Experience working in multicultural and diverse team environments.
Strategic thinker able to prioritize and execute tasks while maintaining alignment with overall objectives and timelines.
