The Pharmacy Manager leads and develops a pharmacy team to provide exceptional patient care, promote best practices, and address performance opportunities. They support program awareness, onboarding, coaching, and ongoing development, while ensuring compliance with all legal and regulatory guidelines.
Responsibilities
Live our purpose by helping to manage and improve patient health through safe and appropriate dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices.
Oversee the pharmacy team during bench shifts, coach performance, and follow up with team members.
Ensure safe and accurate prescription fulfillment by adhering to workflow procedures and safety guardrails.
Contribute to positive patient experiences through empathy, collaboration with the patient’s care team, and proactive issue resolution.
Offer and deliver immunizations; identify and develop Pharmacists and Technicians to immunize.
Support inventory management with emphasis on protecting cold chain products.
Lead onboarding for new Technicians and Pharmacists, ensuring timely training and licensure.
Ensure operations comply with state Board of Pharmacy regulations; escalate as needed.
Partner with Store Manager to maintain a healthy talent pipeline and ensure training for licensure.
Oversee Staff Pharmacists and District Support Pharmacists (where applicable); conduct performance reviews and close gaps.
Maintain a safe, inclusive, and engaging team dynamic; manage pharmacy scheduling as needed.
Review business reporting to drive improvements in workflow, service, patient care, and compliance.
Foster a culture of safety, empowerment, and inclusion; encourage feedback and act on it.
Maintain clinical and technical skills; pursue training and continuing education as required.
Support access to care and patient outcomes through pharmacist-delivered clinical services where permissible.
Comply with federal and state laws and CVS Health policies, including controlled substance dispensing and patient privacy.
Qualifications
Active Pharmacist License in the state where the Store is located
Active National Provider Identifier (NPI)
Not on the DEA Excluded Parties list
1-2 years of experience as a Pharmacist
Preferred Qualifications
Completion of the CVS Pharmacy Manager Emerging Leader (PM-EL) program
3-5 years of related work experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service
Ability to work in the home store and across the market to meet business needs
Anticipated Weekly Hours 40
Time Type Full time
Pay Range The Typical Pay Range For This Role Is $65.00 - $82.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions within this job grade. Final offers depend on experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. The position may be eligible for bonus, commission, or other incentives in addition to base pay.
