Job Description
Professional level sales position capable of supporting advanced functions on the commercial side of the business. The position is responsible for profitable growth of the commercial business via customer retention and growth. The role partners with the GM to manage Team Members and requires expert knowledge of automotive systems and parts. The ability to source from various channels such as special order, FDO, second source, etc., is essential. The role also involves directing drivers to ensure timely and accurate delivery. This is a full-time position.
Primary Responsibilities
Maintain commercial customer relationships
Provide GAS2 selling experience to commercial customers
Achieve personal and store sales goals and service objectives
Support day-to-day supervision of Team Members
Collaborate with GM on coaching and development of Team Members
Dispatch drivers to ensure delivery standards are met
Maintain commercial stocking programs
Build and sustain a network of second source suppliers
Secondary Responsibilities
Maintain core bank and commercial returns
Manage commercial credit accounts
Partner with GM to ensure proper driver coverage
Success Factors
Friendly communication skills
Ability to locate and stock parts efficiently
Knowledge of safety procedures and skills
Proficiency in operating inventory systems and store equipment
Parts and automotive system knowledge
Proficiency with POS and parts lookup systems
ASE P2 certification or equivalent
Strong solution, project, and product recommendation skills
Ability to source from multiple channels
Advanced selling skills for commercial customers
Ability to multi-task and stay organized
Essential Job Skills
Working knowledge of automotive systems and diagnostic skills
Fluent in English; Spanish is a plus; effective communication skills
Ability to interpret safety rules, manuals, and parts catalogs; basic writing skills
Ability to follow written, oral, or diagrammatic instructions
Successful completion of the Parts Knowledge Assessment
Accurate basic math skills
Effective use of Microsoft Word and Excel
Strong organizational skills
Understanding of commercial profitability concepts
Flexibility to work days, evenings, and weekends as needed
Prior Experience
A minimum of 3 years of automotive parts experience preferred. Proven sales ability and experience leading teams are advantageous.
Education
High school diploma or GED required.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
ASE Certification preferred but not required.
Physical Demands
Must be able to walk, stand, lift up to 50 pounds regularly, and up to 100 pounds occasionally. Must have good vision and physical dexterity.
Work Environment
Primarily indoor work, with occasional outdoor tasks in various weather conditions. Exposure to mechanical parts, chemicals, and other hazards is possible.
Position is eligible for sales commission based on performance.
Compensation Range
$19.95 - $21.95 per hour
