Accountable for day-to-day non-clinical pharmacy operations and administrative activities where allowed by state and federal laws/regulations; ensure efficient pharmacy workflow and a positive patient experience. Serve as a full-time certified pharmacy technician under the supervision of a pharmacist. Operate pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions. Supervise pharmacy technicians and pharmacy cashiers within company policies, laws, regulations, and business ethics. Lead the selection, scheduling, and development of pharmacy technician personnel. Manage training, coaching, and performance management of technicians. Make decisions regarding performance management including discipline and termination. Engage with customers and patients to provide assistance, resolve complaints, respond to requests, and answer non-clinical questions to ensure a positive customer experience. Build strong relationships and proactively offer services to enhance the pharmacy experience. Assist the pharmacist in patient care activities including patient registration, prescription data entry, preparation of medications, counting, and verification (where allowed by law). Conduct patient and physician calls under pharmacist supervision and support healthcare service offerings such as vaccines and health screenings where allowed by law. Coordinate and manage the daily pharmacy schedule, delegate non-clinical work, ensure on-time task completion, and maintain a clean, stocked, and compliant pharmacy environment. Prepare and file reports required by the company and government agencies; support inventory management and recordkeeping; manage technology rollouts and security safeguards in the pharmacy. Assist with insurance claim processing, resolve customer issues, and participate in 3rd party audits; analyze and improve pharmacy financials, operational quality, and customer service in collaboration with Store/Pharmacy Manager. Assign pharmacists to off-site immunization clinics and community events; build and sustain relationships with retail partners. People & Performance Management
Lead performance management of technicians, including discipline and termination decisions, following policy guidelines. Ensure compliance with state and federal laws and hold technicians accountable for attendance and timeliness. Hire, on-board, train, and schedule technicians; monitor training completion and adherence to scheduling policies. Identify gaps in operations knowledge; provide hands-on training or learning modules as needed. Monitor licensure, registrations, and certifications to remain compliant. Support record retention, recruitment, and training procedures in accordance with company policy and applicable laws. Training & Personal Development
Maintain PTCB certification and any required state certifications; pursue ongoing professional development and performance improvement plans as directed. Engage in continuous learning, seek feedback, and collaborate with leadership for mentorship and coaching. Qualifications
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent. PTCB or ExCPT certification (except in Puerto Rico). One year of work experience as a pharmacy technician in retail or hospital settings. Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico). Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends. Willingness to obtain active immunization certification within 90 days of hire (locations may vary). Preferred Qualifications
Previous people management/leadership experience; prior Walgreens experience with a record of exceeding expectations. We will consider qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records.
