Position: Nuclear Medicine Technologist (Travel) Company: Fusion Medical Staffing Location: Rutland, Vermont Duration: 13-week travel assignment Summary: The Nuclear Medicine Technologist is a highly specialized health care professional responsible for preparing and administering radiopharmaceuticals to diagnose and treat various medical conditions. They operate imaging equipment, monitor patient safety, and ensure compliance with radiation safety standards while collaborating with healthcare teams to deliver accurate and effective diagnostic results. Responsibilities
Educates patients about nuclear medicine procedures and addresses questions Maintains and inspects nuclear medicine equipment for proper functioning; reports malfunctions and ensures radiation safety compliance Prepares and administers radiopharmaceuticals and other medications according to established protocols and safety standards Monitors patients for adverse reactions and intervenes as necessary to ensure safety Operates imaging equipment to create images as ordered by physicians Documents procedure details in patient records to ensure continuity of care and regulatory compliance Follows hospital safety rules and radiation safety procedures to minimize exposure Performs other duties as assigned within the scope of Nuclear Medicine Technologist practice Required qualifications
One year's experience as a Nuclear Medicine Tech Current Nuclear Medicine Technologist/Radiography license in compliance with state regulations Current BLS Certification (AHA/ARC) Preferred qualifications
Current ARRT or Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) Other certifications and licenses may be required for this position Required essential skills
Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication skills Ability to read, write, and communicate in English Ability to read/comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skills Physical abilities: ability to remain stationary, move equipment (50-100 lbs), push/pull, and bend Interpersonal skills: work effectively with a variety of personnel Technical/motor skills: fine manipulation, equipment handling Mental requirements: ability to work under pressure, sometimes under close supervision, with attention to detail Sensory: visual acuity and effective communication Benefits Include
