The opportunity

Our Government & Public Sector-Financial Accounting Advisory Services (GPS-FAAS) team is growing, and as a Senior Manager you will play a key role across Federal GPS sector service lines. You’ll communicate strategic goals, listen to clients, and deliver an exceptional client experience in a field with no off-the-shelf solutions.

Your Key Responsibilities Think on your feet to address complex issues and challenge existing practices.

Collaborate with colleagues across multiple service lines; build relationships and identify opportunities to apply EY knowledge across the firm.

Regular travel to meet with key clients, some of whom are highly respected in their fields.

Skills And Attributes For Success Develop and maintain strong, productive relationships with audit client personnel; assess satisfaction and maintain contact throughout the year.

Direct field work, inform supervisors of engagement status, and manage assurance staff performance.

Demonstrate thorough understanding of complex accounting and auditing concepts and apply them to client situations.

Develop people through effective delegation and guidance of assurance staff; provide performance feedback and reviews.

Contribute ideas, listen to team members, and foster an efficient, innovative, team-oriented environment.

Use technology to learn, share knowledge, and enhance service delivery.

Understand EY's service lines and encourage contribution of ideas to apply the firm’s services.

To qualify for the role you must have Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business with 7+ years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience with US GAAP in Federal contexts.

U.S. CPA license in your work state.

Excellent project management, communication, and negotiation skills; collaborative leadership.

Proven track record of mentoring and improving a high-performing team; dedication to teamwork and integrity.

Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.

Willingness to travel as needed (average 25% to 30% or more in a hybrid environment).

Ideally you’ll also have CGFM and/or CDFM.
