Responsibilities

Under the general direction of the Chief, Early Engagement and Eligibility Bureau, Staff Services Manager (SSM) III, and under the specific direction of the Section Chief, Staff Services Manager (SSM) II, the Staff Services Manager I is responsible for supervising and directing the activities of a group of analysts responsible for policy development, analysis, interpretation and guidance of the CalWORKs Program’s eligibility requirements. The Bureau is also responsible for the coordination and completion of contract negotiations. Specific duties include: Supervise the development of program regulations and the preparation and dissemination of information on CalWORKs program law, regulations, and policies. Communicate information to counties verbally and in writing using mechanisms such as All County Letters and All County Information Notices. Provide timely and accurate program consultation services pertaining to CalWORKs requirements to internal and external entities. Supervise the development of program forms and notices of actions.
