Administrative Assistant 1 – Nome, Alaska
Position within the Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT & PF), Western District Maintenance and Operations office.
Responsibilities
Provide administrative and technical support for the office, including accounting, procurement, financial tracking, and airport administrative duties.
Assist the Administrative Assistant 3, District Superintendent, and Airport Manager with personnel actions, regulatory compliance, airport security training, and badging processes.
Prepare, code, and track expenditures, time sheets, travel documents, and stock requests while maintaining organized financial and administrative records.
Act as the main point of contact for the office—handling reception, correspondence, and communication with staff, contractors, and the public.
Complete special projects and reports, support airport and maintenance operations, and provide coverage for lead office functions as needed.

Problem‑Solving: Identify problems, evaluate alternatives, and make recommendations.
Teamwork: Encourage and facilitate cooperation and a team culture.

Minimum Qualifications
Six months of advanced clerical experience (e.g., Office Assistant 2, Accounting Clerk) with State of Alaska or equivalent.
Or six months of any combination of post‑secondary education, vocational education, and/or advanced‑level clerical experience.
