Job Title: Technical Support Engineer
Location: Madison, Wisconsin Area - Travel
Type: Contract (Long Term, Open-Ended)
Duration: Through June 30, 2026 + Extensions Yearly
Overview We are seeking a Technical Support Engineer to join a team responsible for maintaining and supporting the computer and network infrastructure for a large enterprise environment. This role involves extensive travel throughout Wisconsin and requires strong technical skills combined with excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities
Install, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain computer hardware and software across multiple locations.
Provide technical support and resolve issues for end-users in various office and courtroom environments.
Perform field service for hardware upgrades and emergency technical interventions.
Respond effectively to unplanned events such as system failures or natural disasters.
Ensure compliance with security policies and best practices.
Top Required Skills
Minimum 2 years of experience in an enterprise IT environment.
Strong customer service and communication skills.
Logical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
Proven ability to install, configure, repair, and maintain computer hardware.
Preferred Skills
Knowledge of computer networking principles.
Familiarity with digital audio recording equipment.
Understanding of user account management in an Active Directory environment.
Additional Requirements
Must be a current Wisconsin resident.
Valid driver's license and ability to travel extensively (25-50% of the time) with occasional overnight stays.
Ability to lift and move equipment up to 75 lbs.
Mileage reimbursement provided for personal vehicle use.
Education
Associate's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
