Travel Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a skilled Occupational Therapy Assistant for a 13‑week travel assignment in Cordova, Alaska. Required Qualifications

Valid Occupational Therapy Assistant license in compliance with state regulations.

Current BLS Certification (AHA/ARC).

Preferred Qualifications

COTA Certification (NBCOT).

Graduate of an accredited occupational therapy program.

Occupational Therapy Assistant experience; new graduates welcome to apply.

Other certifications or licenses may be required.

Job Summary The Occupational Therapy Assistant provides direct, hands‑on therapeutic interventions to support patients in regaining or developing skills necessary for daily living. Working under the supervision of a licensed OT, the Assistant implements individualized treatment plans, assists with adaptive techniques and equipment, and educates patients and families on strategies to enhance functional independence.

Essential Work Functions

Deliver individualized occupational therapy interventions and treatments per the established plan.

Maintain and operate adaptive equipment and assistive devices.

Provide education to patients and caregivers about therapy techniques and self‑management.

Collaborate with occupational therapists and other healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive care.

Monitor patient responses, accurately documenting outcomes.

Report findings promptly to the supervising OT.

Provide care in diverse settings, adapting interventions to each environment.

Adjust effectively to evolving patient needs and dynamic work environments.

Prioritize tasks to manage multiple patients efficiently.

Maintain a safe treatment environment, adhering to infection control protocols and safety guidelines.

Perform additional duties within scope of practice.

Required Essential Skills

Critical thinking, service excellence, and strong interpersonal communication.

Proficiency in reading, writing, and communicating in English.

Ability to read/comprehend written instructions and follow verbal instructions; basic PC skills.

Physical abilities: remain stationary, move equipment (50‑100 lbs), push, pull, bend.

Interpersonal skills: work effectively with diverse personnel, positive attitude, professionalism.

Technical/motor skills: fine manipulation, assist with procedures and department equipment.

Mental requirements: cope with frequent public contact, meet deadlines under pressure, work with or without supervision, handle irregular schedules.

Sensory: possess visual acuity and effective communication ability.
