Shift Manager at
McDonald’s
Job located at a McDonald’s restaurant owned and operated by an independent franchisee. The franchisee is the employer and is responsible for all employment matters. McDonald’s USA has no control over hiring, firing or scheduling.
Responsibilities
Lead shifts every week, ensuring customers receive a fast, accurate, friendly experience.
Provide leadership to crew and other managers during shifts to maintain quality, service and cleanliness.
Plan each shift, monitor performance, and take action to meet McDonald’s standards.
Monitor safety, security and profitability, and communicate with the next Shift Manager to help prepare them.
Help departments meet their goals and meet shift targets.
Food safety: maintain procedures and standards.
Internal communication: keep staff informed and aligned.
Inventory management: track and manage inventory levels.
Daily maintenance and cleanliness: ensure the restaurant environment meets company standards.
Managing crew: hire, train, schedule and coach team members.
Quality food production: oversee food preparation and presentation.
Exceptional customer service: resolve guest issues and maintain high satisfaction.
Safety and security: enforce safety policies and address incidents.
Scheduling: create and adjust shift schedules as needed.
Training: develop and deliver training programs for crew.
Qualifications
Previous leadership experience preferred, ideally in a restaurant, retail or hospitality environment.
Positive team player with a flexible schedule.
Must be 18 years or older to hold a managerial position.
Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
