Departmental Objective In support of Christopher Newport University’s mission, the mission of CNU Dining Services is to provide CNU students with the highest quality in food and dining experiences. Purpose of the Position Assure that all functions necessary to keep serving area supplied with clean and sanitized china and service ware. Assure that dish room is operated in accordance with departmental and regulatory standards. Maintains area and equipment as directed. Assures that proper procedures are followed to provide clean and sanitary service ware. Maintain necessary logs, assures that all cleaning solutions and chemicals and other supplies are sufficient for need. Trains and monitors assigned employees. To perform other duties as assigned to include but not limited to beverage re‑stocking and cleaning.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Strong supervisory skills

Ability to read and write

Ability to communicate in writing or verbally to both supervisors and subordinates

Ability to work in congested work areas and areas where wet processes are used

Ability to wear protective footwear (this position will be exposed to slippery footing)

Education

High school graduate or equivalent education/experience that equates to a high school diploma

Experience

Experience in a high volume food service establishment as a dishwasher

Salary Information Starting at $32,672, Commensurate with Education and Experience
