About the Role

Affirm is reinventing credit to make it more honest and friendly, giving consumers the flexibility to buy now and pay later without any hidden fees or compounding interest. The company is at a massive inflection point with millions of cardholders and a 150M+ external TAM. We are looking for a Staff Product Manager to own the critical "Pre‑Swipe" Experience – the defining moments between a user saying "yes" to the card and making their first purchase. What You’ll Do

Own the "Pre-Swipe" Vision: Define the long-term strategy for Card Activation and New User Experience. You will own the roadmap for taking a user from "Interested" to "Ready to Transact," bridging the gap between digital provisioning and physical card unboxing. Build 0->1 Growth Bets: Identify and launch net-new features that drive activation, such as gamified onboarding, instant wallet provisioning (Apple/Google Pay), or novel "first-use" incentives. Obsess Over the Funnel: Manage the end-to-end checkout and activation funnel, ruthlessly eliminating friction to achieve industry-leading drop‑off rates. Cross-Functional Leadership: Act as the conductor for engineering, design, risk, legal, and compliance to decouple growth from platform debt and deliver world‑class UX. Navigate Complexity: Work closely with Risk, Legal, and Compliance to invent safe onboarding approaches without sacrificing speed. Drive Activation Economics: Own key metrics such as Time-to-First-Transaction, 30‑Day Activation Rates, and Wallet Provisioning penetration. What We Look For

7+ years of Product Management experience in consumer mobile apps, fintech, or neobanks. Deep expertise in optimizing high-stakes conversion flows (e.g., checkouts, sign‑ups, KYC). 0->1 Builder Mentality: Proven track record launching new products that fundamentally change user behavior. Technical & Design Fluency: Comfortable with API constraints, latency, and high‑bar UI/UX design. Strategic Influence: Ability to lead without authority and align senior stakeholders. Data-Driven Intuition: Fluent in SQL/Amplitude, using data to identify bottlenecks and product intuition to solve them. Either equivalent practical experience or a Bachelor’s degree in a related field. Compensation

Equity Grade - 13. The base pay is part of a total compensation package that may include equity rewards, monthly stipends, and benefits. Remote experience is preferred with occasional office presence. USA base pay range (California, Washington, New York, New Jersey, Connecticut) per year: $225,000 - $275,000. USA base pay range (all other U.S. states) per year: $200,000 - $250,000. Benefits

Health care coverage – all premiums are covered at no cost for you and your dependents. Flexible Spending Wallets – stipends for technology, food, and lifestyle needs. Time off – competitive vacation and holiday schedules. ESPP – employee stock purchase plan enabling share purchases at a discount. Legal & Inclusion

Affirm is proud to be a remote-first company. The majority of our roles are remote, but some positions may require occasional office presence. We believe It’s On Us to provide an inclusive interview experience for all, including people with disabilities. We are happy to provide reasonable accommodations to candidates in need of individualized support during the hiring process.
