Job Summary:
Our Chicago, Illinois facility is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Shipping & Receiving Associate. This position is critical to managing the flow of goods into and out of our warehouse. You will be responsible for efficiently processing incoming shipments, verifying contents against purchase orders, and stocking items. On the outgoing side, you will prepare orders for shipment, ensuring accuracy and timely dispatch. This role requires strong organizational skills, physical stamina, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and efficient warehouse environment. Understanding of Logistics principles and strict adherence to Safety procedures are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Receive, unload, and inspect all incoming shipments for damage and discrepancies.
  • Verify received goods against purchase orders and packing lists.
  • Enter receiving data into the inventory management system accurately.
  • Store received items in designated warehouse locations.
  • Pick, pack, and prepare outgoing orders for shipment.
  • Generate shipping labels and necessary documentation.
  • Load outgoing shipments onto trucks.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment.
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Wear appropriate PPE at all times, including safety shoes and gloves.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, team members, and carriers.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in shipping and receiving or warehouse operations.
  • Proficiency in inventory management systems and basic computer skills.
  • Ability to perform heavy Lifting (up to 60 lbs) and stand for extended periods.
  • Strong understanding of warehouse Logistics and operational flows.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Demonstrated commitment to workplace Safety and adherence to all safety regulations.
  • Forklift certification is a plus.
  • Must be comfortable wearing required PPE .
