Position Highlights
Work location: 6100 Harris Pkwy, Fort Worth, TX 76132
Work environment: Surgery Department
Work hours: Full‑Time Days – 3 x 12‑hour shifts (Variable 0630‑1900) Mon‑Fri, some weekends, some holidays. Call Required.
2 years experience preferred
Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Southwest Fort Worth (THSW) is a 222‑bed full‑service facility that includes surgical and imaging services, a 24‑hour emergency department, orthopedics and sports therapy, adult critical care, and a Level III neonatal intensive care unit. Texas Health Southwest Fort Worth, which has been serving Tarrant County residents since 1987, has 1,100 employees, 120 volunteers, and more than 600 physicians on its medical staff. The hospital is a Pathway to Excellence® designated hospital by American Nurses Credentialing Center, a designated UnitedHealth Premium Surgical Spine specialty center and has earned Quality Respiratory Care Recognition from the AARC. Position Responsibilities THSW Certified Surgical Tech’s will assist in some incredible robotic procedures to include urologic, gynecologic, and general surgery. They also will assist in 10 OR suites providing services in orthopedic, ortho/spine, podiatry, plastics, vascular, gynecology, urology and general surgery.
Education
High School Diploma or equivalent and was employed to practice surgical technology in a health care facility before September 1, 2009 – required or preferred
Graduate of an accredited surgery technology program, vocational nurse program, or completion of a military training program in surgical technology – required or preferred
Experience
1 year current operating room experience – preferred
Licenses and Certifications
CST – Certified Surgical Technologist (NBSTSA) or TS‑C (NCCT) and graduate of an accredited surgical tech program – required
CST – Certified Surgical Technologist (NBSTSA) or TS‑C (NCCT) and was employed to practice surgical technology in a health care facility before September 1, 2009 – required
CST – Certified Surgical Technologist (NBSTSA) or TS‑C (NCCT) and graduate/completion of a military training program in surgical technology – 2 years required
LVN – Licensed Vocational Nurse – required
BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly – required
Skills A high degree of confidentiality, positive interpersonal skills, acceptable grooming practices, and ability to function in a fast‑paced, changing environment.
