Central Valley, near Bay Area
Assignment Type: Travel Nursing
Labor & Delivery RN
Healthcare Setting: Labor & Delivery Unit
Start Date: November 3, 2025
End Date: February 2, 2026
Contract Duration: 13 weeks
Nursing Shift: Night shifts, 3×12-hour (19:00 – 07:30)
Hours per Week: 36
Weekend Coverage: Required
Floating: Float between Sutter Health Eden Medical Center, Delta Medical Center, Alta Bates Summit Medical Center Ashby, and Tracy Community Hospital
Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $2,510 – $2,690
Labor & Delivery RN Qualifications
Active California Registered Nurse (RN) license
Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience
Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP (American Heart Association preferred)
Travel nurse experience required
Proficiency with Epic electronic charting system
Clinical experience caring for neonates, infants, adults, and pediatric patients
Labor & Delivery Nurse Responsibilities
Deliver comprehensive patient care to mothers and newborns during labor, delivery, and postpartum phases
Assist with high-risk deliveries, C-sections, and vaginal births
Perform newborn assessments, APGAR scoring, and neonatal resuscitation
Provide breastfeeding and lactation education to new parents
Administer medications including anticoagulants, antihypertensives, and magnesium sulfate therapy
Monitor pain management, perform wound/incision care, and educate families on discharge and newborn care
Utilize Epic for accurate charting and documentation
Float between designated Sutter Health facilities as needed
Participate in orientation, ongoing training, and workplace safety initiatives
