Pay Base pay range: $6,331.00 - $9,174.00 per month. Eligible for a recruitment and retention pay differential of $300.00 per month. Effective October 1, 2025, State employees may receive a salary reduction of three percent in exchange for five hours per month of the Personal Leave Program.
Job Description And Duties The Department of Developmental Services is seeking compassionate and dedicated individuals to join the Stabilization Training Assistance Reintegration (STAR) Acute Crisis Homes. As a member of the STAR team, you will provide support to individuals with developmental disabilities during acute crises, assist with activities of daily living, offer emotional support, and promote independence. The program serves adolescents (11‑17 years) and adults (18+ years) in community settings in Vacaville, Springville, and Costa Mesa. The position requires ongoing interaction with consumers, potential exposure to communicable diseases, and travel, including possible overnight stays.
Working Conditions Ongoing interaction with consumers with developmental disabilities and severe psychiatric and behavioral conditions at STAR residence and in community settings, such as consumer’s homes, hospital or psychiatric settings. This role may involve exposure to communicable diseases, blood‑borne pathogens, medicinal preparations, and other conditions common to a clinical nursing environment.
Special Requirements
Valid California Driver’s License (CDL) – provide number, class, expiration date, and any endorsements or restrictions.
Drug Screening – must pass prior to hiring.
Background Investigation – must be cleared prior to hiring.
Other clinical positions require Background Investigation, Drug Test, California Driver’s License, and Medical Evaluation.
