Salary Range $9,476.00 - $11,864.00 (full-time, permanent). New to State candidates will be hired at the minimum salary of the classification.
Job Description The DDS seeks a compassionate, dedicated Nurse Instructor for the Stabilization Training Assistance Reintegration (STAR) Acute Crisis Homes in Solano County. The role involves delivering person-centered care and educational training to adolescents (11-17) and adults (18+) with developmental disabilities during acute crisis.
Responsibilities
Assist individuals with activities of daily living and promote independence.
Provide emotional and therapeutic support in community home settings.
Conduct educational courses in general and psychiatric nursing for staff.
Document care plans, progress reports, and training outcomes.
Coordinate with the STAR team to maintain a safe, supportive environment.
Travel to residences, hospitals, or psychiatric settings, including possible overnight stays.
Working Conditions
Ongoing interaction with individuals with developmental disabilities and severe psychiatric/behavioral conditions.
Potential exposure to communicable diseases, blood-borne pathogens, and medication preparations.
Work may include irregular hours, travel, and overnight stays.

Valid California Driver’s License (CDL) with full endorsement; provide CDL details in application.
Pass a drug screening, background investigation, and medical clearance before hiring.
Certification & Licensure Must hold a current Registered Nurse (RN) license in California, Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR certification, Crisis Prevention and Intervention (CPI), Ukeru training within first 6 months, and registered to the Behavior Technician (RT) within 12 months.
