Pharmacy Customer Service Associate

Base pay range: $16.00/hr – $18.00/hr
Responsibilities
Model and deliver a distinctive, delightful customer experience.
Register sales, provide courteous, efficient checkout service, and handle cash and returns.
Assist the pharmacist under supervision in pharmacy practice, including using pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions.
Engage customers by greeting, offering assistance, resolving issues, and ensuring positive experience.
Recommend items for sale, trade‑ups, and companion items; recommend OTC products.
Maintain cleanliness and merchandising of counters, shelves, and displays; perform inventory checks.
Support pharmacy workflow: entering patient data, counting, pouring, verifying medications, checking for interactions, and maintaining quality improvement compliance.
Report prescription errors immediately and adhere to company policies and the Walgreen Co. Pharmacy Code of Conduct.
Handle telephone calls related to prescriptions and manage manual claims for third‑party services.
Assist in pharmacy inventory management, order receipt, and disposal of overages or shortages.
Ensure compliance with state and local laws related to regulated products (e.g., alcohol, tobacco).
Construct and maintain displays, promotional, seasonal, and sale merchandise; complete resets as directed.
Assist with food placement, stock rotation, and restock outs following policies.
Provide customer service in photo and catering areas, including digital passport photo and creative machines.
Manage web pick‑up responsibilities and deliver orders to customers.
Help maintain store appearance through exterior and interior maintenance and adhere to company policies.
Training & Personal Development
Earn and maintain PTCB certification through the designated training program and/or state‑required certification.
Attend scheduled training and complete required ongoing education and continuing education credits in healthcare and pharmacy.
Basic Qualifications
Fluent reading, writing, and speaking in English (except in Puerto Rico).
Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
Preferred Qualifications
At least six months experience in a retail environment.
Prior work experience with Walgreens.
Good math skills for accurate prescription dispensing.
Strong computer skills.
Knowledge of store inventory control.
PTCB certification.
