It is responsible for safeguarding and preserving lives and property through prevention, protection, and preparation as well as the care, custody, and supervision of all adults sentenced for violating North Carolina laws. This department includes state prisons with custody, healthcare, and facility operations staff as well as probation/parole officers who supervised sentenced people in the community. Other divisions include Administration, Health Services, Rehabilitation & Reentry, Special Operations and the Post-Release Supervision & Parole Commission. We have a mission that matters!**Description of Work**The primary purpose of this position is to support basic operational functions for all Correction Enterprises plants statewide.

These facilities may contain close, medium and/or minimum custody offenders. This position is responsible for maintaining adequate technician coverage to maximize plant operations and minimize costly down time that inhibits production. This position is under the direction of the Correction Enterprises Maintenance/Construction Supervisor II to resolve equipment/facility problems that delay production and any manufacturing operations at the plant. The response and resolution of any problems must be done in a timely and cost-effective manner. This position may supervise staff or offenders while performing duties. It is essential that this position be well-versed in the operation of all power and hand tools, and rolling equipment (forklifts, scissor lifts) and is comfortable with the operation and training of such.

The working hours for this position are Monday- Thursday 6:00 am – 4:30 pm.**Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences****Salary Range: $43,738 - $76,542***The Knowledge Skills and Abilities/ Management Preferences are not required.
