Position Summary The Catering Server supports the successful execution of catered events by providing professional, courteous, and efficient food and beverage service. This role requires flexibility, strong guest-service skills, teamwork, and the ability to work in fast-paced event environments while maintaining food safety and service standards.
Key Responsibilities
Set up and break down catering events, including tables, buffet lines, bars, décor, and service stations
Serve food and beverages to guests in a timely, friendly, and professional manner
Maintain cleanliness and organization of service areas throughout the event
Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines at all times
Communicate effectively with culinary staff, bartenders, and event leadership
Assist with replenishing buffet items, beverages, and supplies
Handle guest requests and concerns with professionalism and a positive attitude
Adhere to all company policies, client expectations, and venue guidelines
Represent the company brand positively at all times
Qualifications & Requirements
Previous catering, banquet, or food service experience preferred (but not required)
Strong customer service and communication skills
Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 lbs
Must be dependable, punctual, and team-oriented
Texas Food Handler Certification
TABC Certification required if serving alcohol
Must comply with all local and state health and alcohol regulations
Work Environment
Indoor and outdoor event settings
Fast-paced, high-volume service environments
Exposure to heat, cold, and varying weather conditions depending on event location
Physical Demands
Standing and walking for long periods
Lifting, carrying, and pushing catering equipment
Bending, reaching, and repetitive motions
