Supermarket Rack Refrigeration HVAC Technician
Walmart is expanding its workforce across local retail stores and actively recruiting a Supermarket Rack Refrigeration HVAC Technician. This role supports and oversees repair of Walmart facilities’, refrigeration and HVAC equipment, utilizing commercial HVAC and refrigeration skills, hand tools, power tools, and digital equipment to complete jobs. The technician must be able to work in a fast‑paced, customer‑focused environment and support the Walmart mission of exceptional service.
Minimum Qualifications
2+ years of commercial refrigeration & HVAC maintenance experience
Large‑scale rack refrigeration experience
Type I/Type II EPA Refrigerant Handling Certification OR Universal EPA Certification
Valid state‑issued driver’s license with a clean driving record and ability to pass an MVR check
18 years of age or older with a high school diploma or equivalent
Vocational or Technical HVAC/R certification and 2 years of mechanical maintenance or construction‑related experience in commercial HVAC/R and building controls (or 4 years of experience in the same field)
Preferred: Completion of a 2‑year HVAC/R vocational program; mechanical license in the city or state of employment
Key Responsibilities
Maintain and repair Walmart facility refrigeration and HVAC equipment using hand tools, digital tools, and power tools.
Utilize the work order management system to receive, support, and document repair work for stores and store associates.
Respond promptly to emergency maintenance calls.
Inspect, operate, or test facilities, equipment, or fixtures to diagnose issues.
Complete all required safety training and operate equipment and tools safely.
Ensure compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations and Walmart’s HVAC safety policy.
Lift up to 75 pounds, climb ladders, and work comfortably at heights.

Compensation Individual compensation packages are based on factors such as skill set, experience, and job classification. The hourly wage range for this position is $23.00–$45.00 (actual rate will equal or exceed the applicable minimum wage). Additional premiums may apply based on schedule, facility, season, or specific tasks.
