Job Description:
- The Patient Services Representative II represents the face of the organization to patients as part of their health routine or life-defining health decisions.
- This role is responsible for collecting quality blood samples, preparing specimens for laboratory testing, and ensuring a safe, accurate, and professional patient experience while maintaining confidentiality and data accuracy.
- Ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently with minimal on-site supervision.
- Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections.
- Flexible availability, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime.
- Ability to make decisions based on established procedures and exercise good judgment.
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver license with a clean driving record, if applicable.
- 1 3 years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
- Experience working in a Patient Service Center environment preferred.
- Customer service experience in a retail or service environment preferred.
- Perform daily activities accurately and on time under the direction of the area supervisor.
- Maintain a safe and professional work environment.
- Perform forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing duties following established procedures.
- Verify patient demographic information, initials, and signatures post-venipuncture to ensure correct labeling.
- Maintain required records and documentation.
- Promote a positive organizational image to patients, clients, employees, and the public.
- Manage multiple priorities in a high-volume setting.
- Strong customer focus and effective communication skills.
- Ability to adapt to change and work across multiple locations as needed.
- Phlebotomy and specimen processing.
- Pediatric, geriatric, and capillary blood collection.
- Data entry and documentation accuracy.
- Communication and interpersonal skills.
- Time management and multitasking.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
- Phlebotomy certification preferred.
