Donor Center Technician 2 .

Job Summary As a Donor Center Technician 2, you will ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, maintain high standards of customer service, and support the efficient operation of our donor center. You will mentor junior technicians, collaborate with Quality Assurance, and handle the collection, storage, and preparation of plasma products.

Responsibilities

Ensure total operation is compliant with state and federal regulations (e.g. FDA approved SOPs, OSHA, CLIA, and GMP) to maintain highest production standards.

Maintain high level of customer service and positive donor experience.

Maintain cleanliness of work area, ensuring a clean and professional environment and stocking supplies as needed.

Maintain donor center equipment per SOP and manufacturer instructions.

Monitor donor conditions, employing techniques to ensure donor comfort, safety, and quality of plasma product.

Maintain donor confidentiality based on company policy.

Maintain complete and accurate record keeping per SOP.

Clean any blood or plasma spills and perform proper procedure for disposition of biohazardous waste.

Mentor Donor Center Technician I, driving training efficiencies; designated trainer.

Partner with Quality Assurance on overall donor floor performance, CAPA implementations, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Troubleshoot machine alarms/alerts and perform QC routines (daily/monthly and quarterly/annual).

Perform First-in-First-Out tasks as assigned.

Ensure donors meet eligibility criteria per SOP.

Perform donor vitals evaluation per SOP.

Perform finger stick for Microhematocrit and Total Protein determination.

Register applicant donors per SOP.

Prompt and sterile collection and storage of plasma product and samples per SOP.

Handle tested, untested, and unsuitable test result products.

Organize samples and product in walk‑in storage freezer per SOP.

Prepare product and samples for shipments per SOP and federal transportation regulations.

Monitor freezer and refrigerator temperatures and report variances.

Perform other job‑related tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.

Three months’ experience in a clerical or customer service position preferred.

Specific certification or licensing based on state requirements.

Basic computer knowledge and skills required.

Ability to speak, read, write (legibly and accurately), and understand English required.

Bilingual in Spanish preferred (location specific).

Strong customer service skills required.

Strong organizational skills required.

Ability to read, follow, and interpret regulations, instructions and manuals required.

Ability to understand verbal instruction required.

Ability to read numbers on screening equipment and perform basic mathematical calculations required.

Effective communication skills required.

Must be able to work day and evening hours, weekends, holidays, and extended shifts on a frequent basis.

Attendance and punctuality required.

Physical Requirements

Always utilize all required and appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).

Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.

Ability to tug, lift, and pull up to thirty‑five pounds.

Ability to bend, stoop, or kneel.

Occupational exposure to blood‑borne pathogens.

Ability to view video display terminal less than 18” away from face for extended periods of time, up to four hours at a time.

Enter an environment with a temperature of -40°C or colder according to SOP.

Ability to perform precise tasks that require repetitive small motor skills, such as drawing blood for diagnostic tests.

Ability to use assistive devices if needed for mobility or communication.
