Pharmacy Customer Service Associate

Base pay range: $16.00/hr - $18.00/hr.
Responsibilities
Model and deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience.
Register sales on assigned cash register, provide courteous, fair, friendly, and efficient checkout service.
Assist the pharmacist under direct supervision in the practice of pharmacy, including using pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions.
Engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services, resolving issues and answering questions to ensure a positive experience.
Recommend items for sale to customers, including trade‑ups and companion items.
Process refunds, exchanges, and voids; take customers to OTC aisles when possible to assist locating products.
Maintain counters, shelves, and merchandise clean and well‑merchandised; take inventory and check pricing as directed.
Perform duties assigned by Pharmacy Manager, Staff Pharmacist, and Store Manager, including entering patient and drug information, filling prescriptions, verifying medicines, and supporting pharmacy workflow.
Report prescription errors to pharmacist on duty and adhere to company policies and pharmacy codes.
Handle telephone calls requiring pharmacist oversight, including physician calls.
Process manual claims for third‑party prescription services and perform other clerical duties as assigned.
Assist pharmacy department with inventory management, including ordering, unpacking, checking, and storing pharmaceutical shipments.
Ensure compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products such as alcoholic beverages and tobacco.
Construct and maintain displays, including promotional, seasonal, and sale merchandise.
Assist with food item separation and product placement per policies, including raw/frozen meats placement and stock rotation.
Use store systems and equipment effectively.
Provide customer service in the photo area and digital passport photo services.
Assume web pick‑up responsibilities, monitoring orders, picking items, and delivering to customers.
Assist with exterior and interior maintenance, ensuring clean and orderly store appearance.
Maintain respectful relationships with coworkers and comply with all company policies.
Complete special assignments and other tasks as assigned.
Training & Personal Development
Earn and maintain PTCB certification through designated training programs.
Attend trainings and complete required PPLs, acquiring continuing education credits.
Maintain knowledge and skill in healthcare and pharmacy, including latest developments.
Basic Qualifications
Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
Willingness to work flexible schedule, including evenings and weekend hours.
Preferred Qualifications
Six months or more experience in a retail environment.
Prior work experience with Walgreens.
Good math skills for accurate prescription filling (counting, measuring, weighing).
Good computer skills.
Knowledge of store inventory control.
PTCB certification.
