Pay Range $28.80/hr – $43.20/hr (DOE)

Summary The Senior Operations Supervisor plays a critical leadership role in the day‑to‑day operations of the plasma donor center. As a senior frontline leader, this role oversees donor floor activities, supervises staff, and supports compliance with regulatory and quality standards. The supervisor acts as the lead resource during shifts, ensures execution of operational priorities, and provides direct support to the Center Manager to drive performance, donor satisfaction, and continuous improvement.

Primary Responsibilities

Act as the leader in the absence of the Center Manager and perform any/all tasks within the plasma center.

Oversee donor operations and supervise Operation Supervisor(s) and donor center staff during assigned shifts, including staffing coordination, task assignments, break schedules, and coaching.

Create employee schedules that accommodate donor cycles.

Determine, adjust, and maintain inventory levels of all goods and supplies; compile and submit orders to vendors as needed.

Keep the Center Manager informed of irregularities and provide action plans to improve and correct deficiencies.

Support and execute daily operational plans to achieve center performance targets related to donor throughput, quality, and productivity.

Partner with the Center Manager and Quality team to identify and resolve deviations or operational concerns in real time.

Monitor donor flow and proactively address delays or service issues to ensure an exceptional donor experience.

Maintain thorough familiarity with all state and federal regulations, FDA‑approved SOP Manual, OSHA, CLIA, cGMP, and internal procedures.

Supervise donor selection, plasma collection, and all manufacturing records in accordance with regulatory requirements.

Attend all required training sessions and staff meetings.

Ensure accurate and thorough documentation of necessary records.

Assist in maintaining a neat, clean facility and keep equipment in good working order.

Submit timely and accurate reports as required by the Center Manager.

Support control of center donor funds as directed.

Participate in onboarding, training, and cross‑training of staff to enhance center agility and performance.

Maintain active communication with other service areas to ensure accurate documentation and quality.

Lead by example in promoting a culture of safety, teamwork, and accountability.

Report all unsafe situations or conditions to the appropriate lead, supervisor, or manager.

Possibly receive training to repair plasma center equipment.

Assist the Center Manager with any additional tasks necessary to pursue company objectives.

Education

High school diploma or GED.

Certification as a Phlebotomist, Donor Center Technician, Plasma Processor, and Designated Trainer.

CPR certification.

Experience Typically requires 6 years of related experience performing phlebotomy, donor processing, and plasma processing duties with demonstrated proficiency in handling challenging situations.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Exceptional customer service skills; proficient in speaking and writing English, with legible handwriting; bi‑lingual skills where applicable. Ability to understand, explain, and follow SOPs and protocols; flexibility to work varying schedules. Proven ability to perform in a highly regulated, operations‑intensive, high‑volume medical business where donor and employee safety and plasma quality are paramount.

Occupational Demands Work is performed in a plasma center with exposure to biological fluids, potential infectious organisms, electrical equipment, and extreme cold below 32°F. Personal protective equipment is required. Typical duties include standing for 4–6 hours per day, sitting 1–2 hours, bending, twisting, and moving hands frequently. Physical requirements include light lifting up to 15 lb (maximum lift 50 lb) and reaching below shoulder height. Hearing and vision requirements are specified. The position requires independent work under written instructions and continuous adaptation to changing demands.

Compensation And Benefits The estimated pay range for this position in Van Nuys, CA is $28.80 – $43.20 per hour. The role is eligible to participate in up to 15 % of the company bonus pool. Benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, PTO, up to 5 % 401(K) match, and tuition reimbursement. Final compensation depends on education, experience, skill set, location, and market data.
